The Skokie Plan, 1965-1966
These two documents detail the creation and history of the Skokie Plan. The Skokie Plan was created by the Skokie Human Relations Commission (SHRC) to discourage home sellers and real estate agents from discriminating against people of color without passing any fair housing legislation. Raising public awareness of the importance of integration and dispelling myths around property values and crime rates were key aspects of the Skokie Plan.

Pamphlet mailed to Skokie residents to educate them on the SHRC's recommendations relating to fair housing. Presents a history and a declaration of Skokie's attitude towards integrated housing. This second printing is modified from the original version published in February 1966. View full item.
