Abstract

Photocopy of an ordinance, introduced to Skokie Village Trustees on May 2, 1977, prohibiting the dissemination of materials which promote and incite group hatred. The ordinance states that "the dissemination of any material within the Village of Skokie which promotes and incites hatred against members of any group by reasons of their race or national ancestry is repugnant to the local standards of morality of the people of the Village of Skokie" and prohibits such dissemination.

The ordinance was passed unanimously (vote of 7 to 0) by the Village Board of Trustees on May 2, 1977. This document is 2 pages long.
